Dr. Maaike Canrinus, Ed.D., C.Psych. (she/her)
Psychologist and Clinic Director
Dr. Maaike Canrinus is a school and clinical psychologist and the founder of Riverwise Psychological Services. Before starting Riverwise in 2019, she gained experience working as a psychologist in school boards, agencies, and private practice.
Maaike is dedicated to helping children, teens, and families with their learning needs and mental health. She has a passion for supporting parents and caregivers, helping them to better understand their children and build the skills and confidence needed to create positive changes at home. Whether she's conducting assessments, offering consultations, or providing therapy, Maaike focuses on each client’s strengths, and recognizes their unique goals and values.
Maaike grew up in the world of YMCA overnight camping, where she first developed an understanding of how children build confidence, resilience, and strong relationships. Outside of work, she stays connected to the camp community and enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and staying active outdoors.
